Saying Goodbye

saying goodbye is just something we had to do ending something great while starting something new without you by my side my world became empty you weren't there and i wasn't me the pain was inevitable but the suffering was optional i didn't have to miserable but none of it was tolerable leaving me all alone with strangers in a place i can no longer call home you knew what you were doing when you left me standing on the road it's impossible to know what was going through your mind as we left each other that cold december night my tears were from hurt not from the wind i tried to deny it but the truth came out in the end saying goodbye is like being injured you think it'll get better but your really not that sure sometimes i wonder why we really did say goodbye
